So, this is a simple click does most everything except decipher the codes for you. You will have to navigate by clicking the edges of the screen wherever a grey bar appears to turn or back up, or clicking a doorway to go through it, just follow the changing cursor to find, and click on, the active areas in a scene. By the way, there'll be times you'll want to combine inventory so just a few clicks takes care of it all. Which brings me to something else you'll want to click on: the save button. Good luck to you!
